Please God — not man. Or simply put obey God.

In doing that you might — or will — be at odds with other people.

In today’s program Pastor Matt teaches from the book of Matthew as a backdrop for the idea that the events of Christ’s life — his birth, the coming of the wise men, his flight to Egypt and the exodus of the Israelites — are much alike. 

In Matthew 3:1 John the Baptist is calling for repentance because the kingdom of heaven is at hand. This was spoken of by the prophets and in verse 13, Jesus comes to John the Baptist to be baptized.
