Good Friday & Resurrection Sunday are approaching.

Following the Truth. You’ll land on Jesus. Our bias is to Jesus.

No good works to be saved, only faith in Jesus.

He is not just an example to follow.

You are called to join the covenant. Repent and believe the Good News. Salvation is by grace. Jesus does all the work, the justification. 

Implementation of salvation, sanctification involves doing by being the Church.

What is the Gospel? Don’t let “Christians” drive you away from Christ! Jesus is a worthy Lord and Master. Its not just that God loves you.

(Gospel 51 AD in Corinth)

I Corinthians 15:1-7 It must be received by faith –

Christ died for our sins, buried, raised the 3rd day.

and a list of eyewitnesses

    1) Christ died because we are sinful – for us

    for our benefit – According to the scriptures

    This is reality, no feeling, emotion required – 

    2) He was buried – i.e., killed

    3) He was raised the third day and 

    4) Appearances revealed according to the scriptures.

Sin and death dealt with and defeated.

The Gospel is the declaration of the long awaited king, the Christ, the Messiah.

He is King over all. Now that’s Good News.

Christ literally means Anointed one.

Salvation is a gift from Jesus Christ. Obedience is after salvation.

Justification/Sanctification/Glorification = Salvation

When judgement day comes, that judgement has already been declared at point of justification when we believe. He, Jesus is sufficient to rescue us.

We have already received the All-Sufficient One.

Now we are privileged to obey.

Paul reminds Corinthians of the Gospel as of first importance.

1) the scriptures: Matthew, Mark, Luke, John declare these events     (Predictive and Jesus own declaration)

2) Prophetic works declare Gospel from Genesis on

    Repent

    Believe

    Obey – be baptized, take commands (Go & tell)

                be generous, kind, love as Christ loved, forgive

    Follow Christ to glorify God

    Be courageous. He is alive . There is no fear.

It is reality that He rose from the dead.

We are part of the re-creating the world, ultimately in His coming again. We are a new creation.

We are now truly alive. Be ruthless towards sin (mine).

The fulfillment of celebration of Easter is give yourself to Jesus. Be saved. We react to Him.
