Apr 18, 2018 – Jesus is Lord, and Most Worthy of our Service
In today’s program, Pastor Matt looks at Jesus as Lord.
- as our Lord, Jesus achieved our justification with the Father through His sacrificial death on the cross; those who accept him are no longer guilty of sin
- having thus absolved us of all our sin, he opens up relationship again with the Father
- one becomes ‘saved’ upon acceptance of this holy justification
- Jesus then sends His Spirit to dwell in our hearts, leading us through the process of Sanctification
- Christians, then, should be in active service to this King, theĀ Lord of our lives
- our Christian service to our Lord is a privilege He extends to us, certainly in no wise a punishment
- as redeemed sinners, we become His sheep – and we are then called by Him to care for His other sheep
- to accept Jesus’ sacrifice for our sins is to accept Him as Lord of our lives
- if Jesus is the Lord of our lives, we should render to Him His rightful service, which is accompanied by joy
- serving our Lord does not mean seeking the comfort of a life of privilege, but rather dedicating ourselves to a life of service – to Christ, and to His sheep
(John 21)
