Feb 5, 2019 – The Fullness of God with Us Bodily

Today we continue in the book of Colossians. In verse 15 of Colossians 1, we see the preeminence of Jesus, being the firstborn thru verse 19 where it is stated that it was the Father’s good pleasure that this occurred. God is in control. Jesus became the New Adam and the Church became the new Eve. Christians are the guardians of the church. Colossians 1:9-27

Jan 8, 2019 – Jesus Calls Us to Obedience and Repentance

Please God — not man. Or simply put obey God. In doing that you might — or will — be at odds with other people. In today’s program Pastor Matt teaches from the book of Matthew as a backdrop for the idea that the events of Christ’s life — his birth, the coming of the wise men, his flight to Egypt and the exodus of the Israelites — are much alike.  In Matthew 3:1 John the Baptist is calling for…

Matthew chapter 1 begins with the Genealogy of Christ which points to the promise given long before that the Savior would come. That promise is delivered in verse 18 God remained faithful to His promise (Matthew 1:1-25, 2:8, 7:7-8, 14:all)

Dec 11, 2018 – Jesus: God with Us

Dec 11, 2018 – Jesus: God with Us

The prophecy of Isaiah 9:6-7 is fulfilled in Matthew 1:22-25. God is faithful to his covenant with man. Christ was born, became flesh, to redeem the lost. The fact “that” — not “when” — Jesus was born proves God’s love and faithfulness to his covenant. The eternal message of hope, Christ is here. (Isaiah 9:6-7; Matthew 1:22-25; Genesis 5:1-3; Matthew 2:13)

Dec 4, 2018 – Jesus: The Only One Born Completely Innocent

Mankind goes astray at birth (Psalms 51: 5). In Matthew 2 as spoken by the prophets, the wise men came to visit Jesus. The priests, scribes and Herod “all” knew this child who was born in Bethlehem of Judea! This coming King would have jurisdiction over all mankind. Herod sought to kill him because of this. The Christmas story is a story of Christ’s birth but also one of jurisdiction. (Isaiah 9:6-7; Matthew 2:1-20; Romans 1:1-4; Genesis 2)
